It is amazing what can happen when you start sharing your voice with the world. Sure, there are some people who don’t want to hear your message and others who won’t relate… and that’s okay. Those that want to hear it, do hear it, and completely connect with it. They will appreciate that you had the courage and wisdom to share it.
So often we get caught up in the “I don’t want to ruffle any feathers” or “I don’t want to say anything that would upset anyone.” Deep down, some of us wonder if our voice even matters. I’m here to tell you that it does and it is time to share it if you haven’t been.
Realize that you can never please everyone and that you are on this earth to contribute to the greater good. You have a message to share and I dare say you are being selfish and irresponsible by keeping it to yourself.
If speaking up scares you, in my book (Quit [Bleeping] Around: 77 Secrets to Superachieving), Secret #7 implores you to do stuff that scares you. Do something that scares you EVERY DAY. Here is your challenge: every day, speak up once when you normally wouldn’t have. You can start with the small stuff and work your way up to the big stuff.
Now… get to it!
