I was observing two individuals in a conversation the other day and wishing I could come up with the deep, profound ways to speak with such emotion as they did. I sat in this “wishing” for a few minutes before I realized what I was doing and stopped myself.
When I entered into the world of professional coaching a few years ago, I would watch how some of the other coaches adeptly helped their clients move through a painful experience and eventually let go of it. I would observe, study, and do my best to replicate the successes of the other coaches with much frustration.
It wasn’t until I finally owned that I am not one of those coaches – my gift is in motivating others to accomplish their big, hairy dreams – that a world of possibility opened up to me. I am an expert in helping them, albeit in a loving way, by kicking them in their butts and holding them accountable for what they say they want to accomplish.
Each of us has a gift that we are meant to share with the world, and while it is easy to desire the gifts of others, it takes courage and perseverance to truly own our gift.
What is your gift? What are you doing to make it real in the world TODAY?
